London based post pop band, Drones Club believe that people have become like robotic drones, observing without participation as a result of being numbed and alienated by modern structures. That is a lot to chew on and so is their gripping 10 minute long epic track ‘Sphinx’. “Snarling, suicidal analogue bass underpins shimmering synths that whirl and stutter like the opening of an eye” their description reads. I couldn’t have described this better myself and if that group of highly concentrated words does not intrigue you to take a listen, I don’t know what will. Take a journey into a dark, satisfying and rumbling world where the return to the norm seems undesirable…
